About us
Get to know TYRA
The app that digitalizes preschool education — built in Sweden, used by preschools in Sweden, Norway and Spain.
Bayou & TYRA
A preschool app developed by people who know preschools
Bayou is a leading edtech company that develops TYRA, a complete preschool app for educational work and communication. Built around simplicity, user-friendliness and efficiency, TYRA is used by thousands of preschools in Sweden, Norway and Spain.
Since 2021 Bayou has been part of the DSS Group, which gives us the synergies — and the reach — to keep growing internationally while staying close to the preschools we work with.
History
From a student project to thousands of preschools
2015
A prototype, then a product
TYRA began as a project during a vocational college education. The founder, Ove Klintman — a former educator — saw how much smoother communication between preschool and home could be, and built a prototype with two classmates during his internship.
2015
Funding from PTS, and a first release
A grant from the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority turned the prototype into a product, and the first version of TYRA launched in 2015.
2018
Into Norway and Spain
Preschools outside Sweden began using TYRA, and the app was localised for Norway and Spain. The product stayed the same; the languages did not.
2021
Part of the DSS Group
Bayou was acquired by DSS, giving TYRA a larger edtech group to grow within — and the same team on support.
